JUNE By the end of May the wildebeest have exhausted
the Western Corridor's best pastures and the
herds must move further north. Entering the
Lamai Wedge and the Mara Triangle breeding
occurs May through June. This is a transitional
period between the rains and the dry season.
JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER
By July the countless herds have amassed along
the swollen Mara River -a final barrier from
the short sweet grasses of the Masai Mara.
Sometimes the crossing place they have chosen is
shallow allowing the majority of animals to pass
safely. In other areas the waters boil with
drowning wildebeest and slashing crocodiles.
Between July and October the wildebeest reside
in the Mara.
MT KENYA
Mount Kenya is the country's highest
mountain. Straddling the equator, it's
icy summit reaches to 5,199 m. The
National Park consists of all areas
above 3,200 m. The mountain
actually
consists of three distinct zones: the
volcanic peak zone, with its endless
glaciers and snowfields; the alpine
zone, with its distinctive giant
vegetation such as groundsels; and the
lower slopes, with their thick forest

The Tana River White Water
Rafting Kenya Alt 1,200 - 1,100m Just 95km from Nairobi,
this "pool drop" river offers an exciting
day of White-Water thrills (and often
spills). The adventure starts with 3km. of
easy class II and III white-water, where
there is plenty of opportunity to gain and
practice the paddle skills required to run
the lower part of the river. A 6 km section
follows, and now we have an hour or more to
relax, view the abundance of birdlife
around, cool off with a swim - it's very
warm compared with rivers in the States or
Europe, (around 20C),
