It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular
event of the natural world takes place. This is the
annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra
from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and
pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of
the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and
vultures
Day 3 Masai Mara-Lake Nakuru
Depart the camp soon after breakfast and proceed to Lake
Nakuru National park. Lunch at Lake campsite then
proceed for afternoon game drives at Lake Nakuru, a
shallow alkaline lake in the Rift Valley, renowned for
its spectacular flamingo population as one of the
world's greatest ornithological spectacles. Although
Lake Nakuru is primarily a bird sanctuary, there are a
considerable number of animals to be encountered, such
as many large game animals such as zebras, elephants and
gazelles, this is one of our best chances of seeing
rhinos. Lake Nakuru National Park was the first place in
Kenya selected as a rhino reserve. Here is one of the
few places where we can see Rothschild's giraffes.

Lake Manyara is a shallow, alkaline lake that is part of
the Rift
Valley wall; the lake is at the base of this dramatic
western
escarpment giving it a beautiful and serene setting. In
addition to
this peaceful setting, Lake Manyara’s main attractions
are its rich
bird life, tree climbing lions and its hippos, which you
can see at a
closer range than many other places. Lake Manyara also
hosts thousands
of flamingos at certain times of the year and has
diverse vegetation
ranging from savannah, to marshes and acacia woodland,
enabling a
variety of wildlife habitats including butterflies.
Day 7 Lake Manyara Serengeti
After breakfast we break the camp passing through
Olduvai Gorge, the site of Leakey’s family discovery of
fossils of human and animal ancestors dating back to
almost two million years. Meals and overnight at
Seronera campsite.
Day 8 Serengeti National park
A full day with morning and afternoon game drives to
explore the plains. Dinner and overnight at Seronera campsite.
Serengeti is easily Tanzania’s most famous national
park, and it’s also the largest, at 14,763 square
kilometres of protected area that borders Kenya’s Masai
Mara Game Park It is the Migration for which Serengeti
is perhaps most famous. Over a million wildebeest and
about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills
to the southern plains for the short rains every October
and November, and then swirl west and north after the
long rains in April, May and June. So strong is the
ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge or
crocodile infested river can hold them back. The
Wildebeest travel through a variety of parks, reserves
and protected areas and through a variety of habitat.
Join us to explore the different forms of vegetation and
landscapes of the Serengeti ecosystem and meet some of
their most fascinating inhabitants
Day 9 serengeti - Ngorongoro Crater Via Olduvai
gorge
Early morning breakfast then descend to the crater with
picnic lunch for a full day crater tour, you will be
taken 2000ft down the crater by a 4wheel drive vehicle.
Explore the crater before ascending back to the
Ngorongoro Simba Public/Kudu campsite for dinner and
overnight.
The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s biggest whole
volcanic caldera at 8300 sq km and is arguably the most
stunning arena. It is frequently described as one of the
wonders of the world, not only because of its geological
magnificence, but also because it serves as an
extraordinary natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s
largest populations of large mammals. Ngorongoro and
other freestanding mountains are volcanic in origin,
formed during the fracturing process that created the
Rift valley 15 to 20 million years ago. When it peaked
in size 3 million years ago it was a similar height to
Mt. Kilimanjaro today.
